Miss Reta’s Garden

the world behind Riddim Rhymes Kids

Miss Reta is the warm grandmother at the center of Riddim Rhymes Kids. In the cool shade of her garden, she gathers the children close and tells them Anansi stories, the clever, mischievous trickster tales passed down through generations of Jamaican folklore. It’s from these garden storytimes that friends like Tiger Cub first came to life, each one carrying a lesson tucked inside a little adventure.

Everything on this site grows from a method we call Rhythmic Parenting. The idea is simple. Every big feeling gets paired with something a child can hold onto: a rhythm to move to, a breath to steady the body, a hand motion to remember it by, a Scripture to stand on, an affirmation to speak out loud, and a song to sing it home. Feelings become something children can practice, not just survive.

Every character you meet here started as a story Miss Reta told in the garden.
